Nashville Musician's Career Really Gets Moving By Taking a Principled Stand on Controversial Downtown Parking Issue

Nashville's Rockin' Rich Lynch noticed a real increase in his public profile in 2023 as interest in his music took-off when he took a principled stand against unpopular changes to the parking meter system in downtown Music City. His multiple appearances on local news channels along with his poppy protest song on the subject matter called "The Streets of Nashville" has resulted in being recognized more often on those streets as a determined leader in the fight against bad public policy.

"This is nothing but a cash grab," Lynch told Fox News 17's investigative reporter Dennis Ferrier. "This is purely a way for people not to utilize the parking after 6 PM because who is going to come down for two hours? The parking meters after 6 PM are absolutely useless."

Ferrier has been a voice of reason in dissecting the city's irrational and unreasonable approach to its widespread implementation of "smart" meters and his November clip featuring Lynch utilized a large portion of his song with the overall feel of this latest segment in his ongoing reports having the feel of a highly produced music video.

"Roll back this ill-conceived roll out," Lynch told News Channel 5's Alexandra Koehn back in June before continuing, "They didn't have to take away what was one of the last shining glimmering lights of Nashville - free parking for residents after-hours."

Rockin' Rich Lynch goes "all in" on the parking meter issue in Nashville.

"I didn't come down three times last week because of this. That's not generating revenue for the city, that's taking revenue out of the city, so it's not working," Lynch went on to tell Koehn during the interview held in front of Cummins Station in the downtown core. Alexandra - herself a longtime Nashvillian - also appeared pretty annoyed at these unwarranted and unwanted changes to the town she calls home when she pointed out that the new parking scheme is just a ploy and manipulation that forces visitors to the Country Music Capitol into over-priced commercial parking lots.

Rockin' Rich Lynch's song - the Dallas Jack/Spade Creative produced "The Streets of Nashville" - points out all of these factors and concerns in a fast-paced four minute and twenty-three second track that calls out the political and commercial forces who probably don't have the best interests of Nashvillians at heart - no matter what they say. Stay tuned for more - the fight continues as more musicians and responsible reporters take their voices and music to the streets. We wouldn't have it any other way.
