Rockin' Rich Lynch: SONG - You Can't Push Over a Standing Rock

I have friends who gave up months of their lives to participate in the Standing Rock protest. I wrote this song for them and it has since gone on to become an anthem for similar social justice causes within the environmental movement!!! We hope this track strikes a chord with you. There are two versions below. The 2020 Remix is offered as a faster take with slightly more juice. Please BUY THE TRACK through the following links as that will help us record many more songs in the future - thanks!

LYRICS (Words and Music by Rich Lynch)

Verse:
You been wronged before
It's happened again
Fool me once, fool me twice
the shame
Of a white man driven by the taste of honey
A brand new battle against big money
It's the same old fight against big oil
You say, to the victor go the spoils, yeah

Verse:
Outcast, displaced
Laid down their quiver
At the end of the day
Who's the Indian giver?
The fires are lit but this ain't funny
It's a brand new battle against big money
The same old fight against big oil
But, you don't care about their sacred soil, do you?

Chrous:
Can't knock down a standing stone
You can't fight injustice all alone
You hear the firesticks ordered to load and lock
But, You can't push over a standing rock
You can't push over a standing rock, no

Verse:
There's constant cries
all across creation
your broken land
and your troubled nation
Got the buffaloes and eagles on our side, sonny
Hard fight against big money
Join us in this battle against big oil
Well, you bring the heat and watch red blood boil, yeah

Bridge:
Wake up sleepers and stand up strong
Rise up out of your beds, yeah
The darkness is over, the daylight is calling
Let this message into your head
into your head, into your head, yeah, yeah, yeah
into your head

Chorus:
Can't knock down a standing stone
You can't fight injustice all alone
You hear your firesticks ordered to load and lock
But, You can't push over a standing rock

Chorus:
Can't knock down a standing stone
You can't fight injustice all alone
Hear your firesticks ordered to load and lock
But, You can't push over a standing rock
You can't push over a standing rock

Outro:
You can't knock down a standing stone
You can't fight injustice all alone
You can't knock down a standing stone
You can't fight injustice all alone
You can't knock down a standing stone
You can't fight injustice all alone
You can't knock down a standing stone
You can't fight injustice all alone
You can't fight injustice all alone
You can't fight injustice all alone
You can't
